Recurrent Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans of the Chest Wall: The Sequential Ultrasonographic Features
نویسندگان
چکیده
Dematofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) accounts for approximately 6% of all soft tissue sarcomas and it typically presents as a small superficial soft tissue mass (1). Due to its infiltrating growth pattern, the tumor tends to extend far beyond the clinical margin. This explains the high recurrence rate of 20-15% after excision (2). Ultrasonography is considered an additional valuable method of monitoring this disease (3, 4). Although several reports have described the clinical and the ultrasonographic features of DFSP’s local recurrence, to the best of our knowledge, no studies have reported the sequential ultrasonographic features of this disease from the time of the initial diagnosis to recurrence. We report here on a rare case of late local recurrence of DFSP and we describe the sequential ultrasonographic features.

Clinical Features, Pathological Findings and Treatment of Recurrent Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberans
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DESP) is a relatively rare and low-grade tumor of the skin and soft tissue. We review the clinical features, pathological findings and management of recurrent DESP with the aim to improve our understanding of this rare tumor. Fifty-seven patients were diagnosed with recurrent DFSP. The mean age at the presentation of DFSP was 30.9 years. The mean age at diagnosi...

INTRODUCTION Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans is an uncommon low-grade soft tissue sarcoma with a high potential for recurrence as it has irregular finger like extensions. CASE DESCRIPTION We report a case of a large, recurrent dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans in a child involving the anterior abdominal wall, which posed a challenge for reconstruction. Peritoneum sparing full thickness resectio...

Introduction: Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is an intermediate and slowgrowing sarcoma, developing most commonly in the trunk and extremities and rarely in the breast. It may be recurrent, but metastasis is not common. Excisional surgery with enough resection margins decreases the recurrence rate much more. Case Presentation: An 18-year-old woman presented with posttraumatic bruising ...
متن کاملRecurrent Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberance and its Management with Radical Excision and Interval Skin Grafting: A Case Report
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is very rare tumor of dermis layer of skin with the incidence of only 1 case per million per year. DFSP rarely leads to a metastasis (Less than 5% have metastasis), but DFSP can recur locally. We publish a rare case of a recurrent dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and its management with radical excision and interval skin grafting.
